Wrestling at 144 lbs., Stockton junior Emerson Lowry placed first at the 2023 Alan Dolezal Invita-tional wrestling tournament held last Saturday in Russell. After receiving a bye in the first round, he proceeded to win by falls over his next three opponents to claim his place atop the podium.

The Stockton Lady Tiger Wrestlers made a good showing at the Holiday Classic Tournament held last Saturday in Goodland. Both Carolina Northup (100) and Ashlyn Hahn (125) wrestled their way to a second-place finish.

TOURNAMENT CHAMPS.

The Stockton Junior High Tigers picked up a pair of C-Team wins when they hit the road to Beloit to take on St. John’s-TIpton last Thursday. The Stockton girls won a close battle 8-7, while the Tiger boys shutout their opponents 11-0. In B-Team action the Lady Tigers fell 17-11, and the Stockton boys were defeated 26-10.

Ryan Mongeau (285), Cameron Balthazor (126) and Emerson Lowry (144) placed first, second and third respectively at the Railer Round Robin held last Friday in Ellis. As a team, Stockton finished in 10th place.

The Stockton Lady Tigers played their way to champions of the Highway 24 and 36 Pre-Season Basketball Tournament held in Downs last week. On Tuesday, the Lady Tigers defeated Thunder Ridge 34-26, they downed Rock Hills 30-18 on Fri-day, and then picked up a 50-30 win over Lakeside on Saturday to improve to 4-0 on the season.

Two members of the Stockton Girls Wrestling Team made the podium at the Christmas Clash held in Great Bend last Saturday. As a team, the Tigers were 22nd out of 37 teams.

The Southern Cloud Warriors came to town last Friday night for the basketball season opener. The Lady Tigers cruised past their Northern Plains League opponents 52-8, while the Stockton boys fought hard, putting 36 points of the scoreboard, in their 57-36 loss.
