With the Northern Plains League Basketball Tournament, as well as the ensuing game last Friday with Natoma being canceled due to the weather, the Tiger high school basketball teams were idle all week. They resumed their regular schedule this Tuesday when they hosted Northern Valley.

Emerson Lowry, wrestling at 144 lbs., was a sixthplace finisher at the Beloit Invitational which was held last Friday and Saturday in Beloit. Lowry won his first two matches by decision, but was defeated his next three, with two being by decision, and the other on a 13-12 sudden victory.

Four Tiger wrestlers made the podium last Saturday en route to their fourth-place finish in the Hays Girls Prairie Classic held at Hays High. Ashlyn Hahn (125) placed first, Carolina Northup (100) was second, Rivver Long (190) finished in third, and Mia Odle (115) was fourth.

Stockton’s boys traveled to Oberlin on Saturday for the Buzz Matson Wrestling Tournament at which Cameron Balthazor (126) and Zach Young (190) each placed third. Also competing and placing fourth were Emerson Lowry (144) and Ryan Mongeau (285). All four Tigers made the podium.

The Stockton Junior High Wrestling season is underway with the first competition of the season taking place this Thursday in Plainville. Action will begin at 4:00 p.m.

The 35-second shot clock has been approved on a trial basis for the 2024-25 basketball season by KSHSAA Executive Board at their board meeting on Wednesday, January, 10.

Carolina Northup and Ashlyn Hahn wrestled their way to the top of the podium last Saturday at the JR Durham Invitational wrestling tournament held in Norton. The two ladies, wrestling at 100 and 125 lbs. respectively, won each of their matches by a fall to capture first place.

The Kansas State High School Activities Association recently released the sub-state basketball tournament assignments for Classes 1A6A. Stockton has been assigned to the Class 1A Division I Sub-State Tournament hosted by Oberlin-Decatur Community High School in Oberlin.

The Stockton Tigers opened the 2024 portion of their basketball schedule last Thursday when they hit the road for Norton to take on the Bluejays. Unfortunately, the Tigers were defeated in each of the contests.
