Stockton High School graduate Rylan Basart capped off his sophomore season at the University of Nebraska — Kearney with an eighth-place finish in the Javelin at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships held recently in Emporia. With his finish atop the podium, he was also named NCAA DII Javelin First Team All-American.

Peyton Hardenberger leads Wamego to second 4A State Softball Championship

Junior Peyton Hardenberger led her team to a second straight 4A State Softball Championship on Friday, May 24 in Salina when the Wamego Red Raiders defeated Andale/Garden Plain by the score of 5-0. It was also the second consecutive year in which Hardenberger, the only returning starter from the 2023 state title squad, threw back-to-back no-hitters in the semifinals and finals while leading her team to victory.

Season ends for RoCo Softball after loss in Regionals to Beloit

The 2024 softball season came to an end for the RoCo Softball Team on Monday, May 13, when the girls lost to the Beloit Lady Trojans in the 3A Regional Tournament held in Great Bend. The game was scheduled to be played in Hoisington, but due to the weather, it was moved to the sports complex in Great Bend.

For the second year in a row, Stockton sophomore Cheyenne Hoeting was at Wichita State University’s Cessna Stadium on Memorial Weekend to compete in the 2024 KSHSAA State Track and Field Championships.

Cheyenne Hoeting places third in 1600M Run to earn a trip to State

Cheyenne Hoeting was the only Tiger to earn a trip to the 2024 KSHSAA State Track and Field Championships this Friday and Saturday, placing third in the 1600 Meter Run at last Thursday’s very competitive 1A Regional Track Meet in Washington. Her time of 5:39.18 not only qualified her for State, but she set a new school record, as well, breaking the old record which Jill Stephens had held since 2017, by six seconds.

RoCo falls to Ellsworth in doubleheader

RoCo Softball hosted the Ellsworth Bearcats last Tuesday in the final doubleheader of the regular season. Unfortunately, RoCo struggled to get runs on the scoreboard, and fell in both games. The Lady Cardinals dropped the first game 10-3, and the second one 16-3. RoCo entered the Regional tournament this Monday and Tuesday in Hoisington with a 6-12 record.

Dix and Snyder win gold medal at NPL Track Meet

Last Thursday the Tiger track team traveled to Tescott for the Northern Plains League Track Meet. Junior Ava Dix and sophomore Saj Snyder each brought home a gold medal, with Dix winning Long Jump, and Snyder capturing the 300M Hurdles.
