The Stockton VFW Post 8873 and Auxiliary are encouraging everyone to get out and vote on Tuesday, November 8th. Honor a veteran’s service by casting your ballot and then help the veterans with their projects by coming to the Stockton VFW from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and enjoy a lunch of ham and bean, vegetable beef, and chicken noodle soup with homemade cornbread, dessert and drink for $8.00. And don’t forget to buy your poppy to help our disabled veterans.

Annual VFW membership potluck supper to be held this Sunday

The Stockton VFW Post #8873 will host its annual membership potluck supper this Sunday, October 23rd at 6:00 p.m. Admission is your paid dues. Dinnerware, meat, drink and bread will be furnished. Please bring a vegetable or dessert dish.

In Stockton, the distribution will be held on Monday, October 24th from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the VFW Hall. You are asked to please enter through the front door at 314 Main Street.

The regular monthly meeting of the Rooks County Health Center Board of Directors will be held on Tuesday, October 25th at 6:00 p.m. in the hospital’s meeting room. The public is encouraged to attend.

Collecting applications for veterans service recognition

VFW Post 8873 Monroe-Taylor-Barnes Post resolved at the September meeting to undertake the project of collecting applications for veteran service recognition certificates. Your VFW Post 8873 will be conducting a recognition of service for ALL veterans in conjunction with the Quilts of Valor program held by the VFW Auxiliary Post 8873.
