Governor Laura Kelly has announced the reappointment of Robert Atkisson of Stockton to the Kansas State Fair Board. Atkisson will continue his service on the board, which acts as the showcase for Kansas agriculture, commerce, and industry, providing educational and entertainment opportunities to residents across the state. His reappointment reflects continued confidence in his commitment to promoting the State Fair’s mission and supporting Kansas traditions.

“I am the good shepherd, says the Lord; I know my sheep, and mine know me.” As we celebrate the fourth Sunday of Easter, known as Good Shepherd Sunday, we honor all those who “shepherd” the church, the family, the community…our Pope, bishops, and priests, parents and grandparents, godparents and guardians, and community leaders. They guide us, feed us, and lead us in their respective roles, much like shepherds care for their sheep.

First Christian Church welcomed pastor Matt MacConnell back Sunday after spending nearly a month on a mission trip to Nepal. Justin Hashenberger accompanied Matt on the trip and helped provide testimony to the mission's success.

“A Tribute to America' was the theme for the Stockton Grade School K-5 spring music concert held on Tuesday, April 21st. The young singing patriots did their country proud as they celebrated America's 250th birthday with red, white, and blue backdrops and dozens of songs written in honor of our great nation by such notable songwriters and musicians as John Phillip Sousa, Francis Scott Key, George M. Cohan, and Irving Berlin.
