Condolences to the family of Wilbur Perry Cotton, age 99, who passed away August 4 at Medicalodges of Great Bend. He was born April 3, 1921, in Woodston, the son of Perry and Blanche (Dibble) Cotten. Wilbur graduated from Woodston High School in 1939.

(The following is taken from the unapproved minutes of the July 13th Woodston City Council regular meeting.) The Council of the City of Woodston met on Monday, July 13th, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at the City Hall.

The Rooks County Commissioners spent most of their morning session on Tuesday, August 4th reviewing the 2021 budget prior to the Public Hearing, which was scheduled for Tuesday, August 11th. They also reviewed and signed vouchers as presented by the clerk.

PART OF THE FUN at the Fair is catching up with friends. Hayzen Elliott of Plainville and Kyan Bigge of Stockton did just that as they were awaiting their turn in the show ring during 4-H activities last Thursday at the Rooks County Free Fair.

GRACE. Within the nature of every person is the mindset that living a "good life" is what will make them acceptable before God. This was certainly true of the Israelites who believed that obedience to God's Law is what made them acceptable to Him.

Harry and Willardene Purdum were expecting their daughter, Ellen Bateman, to arrive on Aug. 4th, as she returned the family Suburban that had been on loan to other family members for the past two years.

Conflict is a part of our daily lives. We may have conflict with someone with differing political views. Or, we might have conflict with someone at work, or possibly with family members. Some people avoid conflict while others may thrive on it.
