(The following article is taken from the unapproved minutes of the May 25th Stockton USD 271 Board of Education special meeting.) The Stockton USD No. 271 Board of Education members met for a special meeting on Tuesday, May 25th at 7:30 p.m.

TOPS #0375, STOCKTON, congratulates Helena Saunders of Stockton for being the Runner-Up to State Queen at State Recognition Days in Wichita recently. Through hard work, lots of walking and self-control, she lost 70 pounds for that honor.

The Hobart Homemakers FCE group met Monday, May 24, 2021, at 7 p.m., at the United Methodist Church in Stockton. Janie opened the meeting with the Flag Salute. Roll Call was, "What is an example of a fermented food?" It was answered by seven members.

Dr. Morris and Dolores Talbert of Stockton are proud and very encouraged by these two grandsons, Jacob Nichols (left) and Elijah Nichols (right), both sons of Mike and Tami Nichols of Olathe.

THE STOCKTON AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE was represented in the Peony Festival Parade with this two-person, four-wheeled bicycle, driven by Chamber director Jayne Prockish, with Chamber president Linda Conyac peddling in the passenger seat.

Our family had two girls participating in the Kansas State High School Track Meet this past weekend in Wichita. Niece Hailey Sharp, a junior for 3A Riley County, placed 12th in the two-mile run. Niece Kolbie Bartlett, a freshman, placed 8th in the 4x800 meter relay team for 2A Bennington.

Patty Chesney: “In the 47 years we have lived here, we have never had a flood like we did on May 16th.” Overheard: “The cool weather we have experienced has sure made for some wonderful sleeping nights this late in May.”.
