Last week, we talked about the extreme suffering that Job endured, yet in his strife, he remained faithful to God. He never blamed God for his troubles but worshipped God, saying, “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.” (Job 1:21) This week, we continued in the book of Job, looking at the next challenge that was faced at the hands of Satan. In Job 2:3, the Lord again tells Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? No one on earth likes him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.” Satan goes on to essentially ask God to let him do more. This time, Satan says, “Skin for skin! A man will give all he has for his own life. But stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse you to your face.”
