Lloyd Clifton, 32 years old, was murdered by his father, J. T. Clifton, who fired five times at him with his revolver, three of the shots taking effect. Clifton and his son were living together on a farm in Graham County. At breakfast, the younger man asked to have some eggs cooked.

The West Nile Virus hit close to home as Maxine Dibble of Stockton was diagnosed with it at the end of August when she was taken to the hospital due to her being weak, dehydrated and disoriented. She was tested for stroke but the tests came back negative.
