John Paul Slaven, 93, died June 23, 2022, at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains in Dodge City.

Alan P. Roelfs, formerly of Grantsburg, Wisc., passed away on June 17th, 2022, at the age of 85. Dr. Roelfs was born on November 18th, 1936, and raised on a wheat farm near Stockton, Kansas.

Debbie Ann (Sander) Wallace, Plainville, passed away on June 22, 2022, in Hays, Kansas at the young age of 52 following her battle with cancer. She was born to Delbert and Rita (Baxter) Sander on October 22, 1969, in Plainville, Kansas. She was blessed with three children: Deven, Dylan, and Dayton.

Marla Goodman, 75, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022. She was born July 10, 1946, in Webster, Kansas. She grew up in western Kansas in Webster, Covert, and Stockton. She attended college at Fort Hays State University, where she met her husband, Clyde, of Ness City.

Veryl (Joe) Allen Switzer, Sr. went to be with the Lord on June 4, 2022, after complications from a stroke. Veryl was born on August 6, 1932 in Nicodemus, Kansas to Frederick L. Switzer and Ora T. (Wellington) Switzer. He was the youngest of six.

Cassandra “Cassie” Jo Hill, age 59, Stockton, passed away on June 13, 2022, at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

Peggy Ann Crumb, age 73, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at St. Catherine Hospital of Dodge City. She was born on September 2, 1948, at Hays, Kansas, the daughter of Sylvan and Mary (Niblock) Harris.

Carl “Tom” Nelson, age 86, died in Manhattan, Kansas on June 8, 2022. He was born June 13, 1935, in rural Woodston, Kansas to Carl and Rausa (Hale) Nelson. Tom graduated from Alton High School in 1953.

Gary Lee Dix of Alton passed away on May 10, 2022 at the age of 76. He was born in Stockton, Kan. on March 2, 1946 to Ivan and Marie Dix of Alton, Kan. Gary married Joyce Anderson on April 23, 1982. They spent their life together in the Alton community, where Gary grew up and lived all of his life.

Gerald G. Dreiling, age 77, real estate investor and landlord, died Tuesday, May 24, 2022.  Celebration of Life / “Jerry’s First Birthday in Heaven” will begin June 18th at 11:00 at Plainville (KS) Cemetery.
