Body Lawrence D. Tholen, 94, “Grandpa” of Grinnell, died Monday, March 18, 2024. He was born May 9, 1929, to Theodore and Margaret (Berens) Tholen. He married Agnes Schumacher on October 27, 1953.

Body Edmo Jean “E.J.” Novotny, 97, of Russell, Kansas, died on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at his home in Russell. He was born on August 21, 1926, in Zurich, Kansas, the son of Rudolph Robert and Violet (Kaba) Novotny.

Body Victoria Ann “Vicki” Larson, age 77, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, in Glendale Ariz. She was born December 11, 1946, in Kansas City to Clyde and Dorothy Yowell. She married Richard “Dick” Wellbrock and they later separated.

Body Our dear mother, Bonnie Vogel, sadly passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the age of 92. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her. She also had many friends and was a well-loved member of the community.

Body Inez Katherine Vohs, 83, passed away on March 15, 2024, at Catholic Care Center, Wichita. She was born November 18, 1940, in Galatia, the daughter of Alfred and Clara Polzin Reif. A longtime area resident, she was a funeral director and embalmer in various states.

Body Former Phillipsburg resident Sherlyn Kats passed away on March 13, 2024, at the Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, Kansas, at the age of 81.

Body Lorene Madeline (Stephen) Alexander, age 84, passed away on January 29, 2024, in Carmichael, Calif., She was born on April 16, 1939, to Lewis and Glennys (Reed) Stephen on the Stephen Family Farm northwest of Stockton, near Bow Creek. She battled leukemia for several years.

Body Leonard Melton Stephen, of Atwood, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at HaysMed Center, at the age of 76 after a battle with cancer. He was born in Stockton on August 26, 1947, to Lewis Harold and Glennys Faye (Reed) Stephen.

Body Etta Arlene (Duff) Holloway, 88, Lindsborg, passed away at her home on March 13, 2024. She was born April 4, 1935, to Clayborn and Stella Duff in Salina, Kansas.

Body James “Jim” Thomas Bridges, II, of Plainville, Kansas, passed away on March 1, 2024, at the age of 63. He was born on January 25, 1961, to Gordon E. and Ruth Elaine (Gilbert) Bridges in Plainville, Kansas.
