He was born on March 28, 1979, in Plainville, Kansas, to Henry X. Plante and Janet Jo (Bear) Plante.

Joseph attended school in Plainville and later began working in the oil field as a roughneck. He was most recently employed with Masters Oil Company as a maintenance and service manager.

Shannon Leigh McGuire, a woman of unwavering love for her family and friends, was born on August 21, 1973, in Osborne, Kansas. She passed away on December 27, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Larry Leroy Booth, age 93, of Colby, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the Citizens Medical Center in Colby.

Charlene Faye Meistrell, age 102, of Plainville, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, at the Rooks County Health Center in Plainville, in the community she called home her entire life.

She was born on March 3, 1923, in Plainville to Albert and Charlotte (Stein) Mock and graduated from Plainville High School in 1941. On December 29, 1941, she married Donald E. Meistrell in Wichita, Kansas. They shared 65 years of marriage and were blessed with one son, Robert. Don preceded her in death in 2006.

Gertrude Ellen Strutt/Peacock/Morgan, 87, of Marion, passed away on January 14th at Parkside Homes.

She was born June 4, 1938, to Theodore and Sarah (Cadoret) Strutt in rural Osborne County, Kansas.

She married John William (Bill) Peacock on February 13, 1956, in Stockton, Kansas. He passed away in 1993. She married Howard Morgan on May 26, 1995, on a farm near Canton, Kansas.

Doris M. Casey, 100, Hays, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Brookdale Senior Living.

She was born on March 15, 1925, in Plainville, Kansas, to Charles and Anna (Johnson) Marston.

Kenneth Charles Miller, Sr., a proud member of America's Greatest Generation, passed peacefully into heaven on January 3, 2026, at the age of 99.

He was born on March 20, 1926, to Bernard and Mary Cycelia Dunzar Miller in Meridian, California, the 9th of 11 children.

From his earliest days, Kenneth embodied the industrious spirit that would define his generation. Growing up in California, he delivered newspapers and worked in his brother's orchards, always finding ways to contribute and earn his keep.
