The Stockton Area Chamber of Commerce held a members meeting on Tuesday, August 27th, at 6:00 p.m. at the Nova Theatre. After the treasurer’s report by Chelsey Kriley, the members approved the bills to be paid and the report as presented.

The Rooks County Commissioners met with auditor John Mapes at the beginning of their regular weekly meeting on Tuesday, August 27th, to review the 2023 audit report. Mapes reviewed the information with the commissioners, who then approved the audit as presented.

Cole Scheller, the grandson of Sondra Folsom of Stockton, spent part of his summer in Paris, France as a volunteer for the 2024 Summer Olympics. Cole, who is finishing his last year at Kansas State University, saw information about Olympic volunteers last year on social media and applied for a spot.

Printed in the August 15th issue of the Stockton Sentinel were the legal notices of the City’s rate increases for electric and solid waste. This is the first time the electric rate has seen an increase since March 2018.
