Register of Deeds April Brown met with the Rooks County Commissioners on Tuesday, September 3rd, to notify them of the new email addresses for the departments and to present a proposal for the courthouse computer server.

Nicodemus National Historic Site is proud to announce the successful acquisition of the historic First Baptist Church in Nicodemus, Kansas. This acquisition was only possible because of collaboration with the First Nicodemus Missionary Baptist Church congregation, the generous donation and dedicated work of the Trust for Public Lands (TPL), and the assistance of the National Park Foundation (NPF).

The Stockton Area Chamber of Commerce held a members meeting on Tuesday, August 27th, at 6:00 p.m. at the Nova Theatre. After the treasurer’s report by Chelsey Kriley, the members approved the bills to be paid and the report as presented.

The Rooks County Commissioners met with auditor John Mapes at the beginning of their regular weekly meeting on Tuesday, August 27th, to review the 2023 audit report. Mapes reviewed the information with the commissioners, who then approved the audit as presented. Mapes will now send the report to the State to be filed.

Cole Scheller, the grandson of Sondra Folsom of Stockton, spent part of his summer in Paris, France as a volunteer for the 2024 Summer Olympics. Cole, who is finishing his last year at Kansas State University, saw information about Olympic volunteers last year on social media and applied for a spot.
