A Luray woman remains in custody in the Rooks County Jail on a $10,000 bond following multiple drug charges being filed on Tuesday, August 5, in Rooks County District Court and following a Probable Cause/Arrest Report filed on July 28.

Multiple charges were filed on August 5 in Rooks County District Court against a Paradise man, Owen Curtis Keil, age 36, who was found with a loaded Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm gun, before the expiration of the statuatory prohibition period, and without having had such right restored, following a traffic stop in Rooks County on July 25, 2025, at U & 15 Roads.

On Sunday evening in Stockton, as many were gathered around the television or preparing for bed, the ground suddenly shook beneath them. Residents described the moment, which lasted several seconds, as if something had hit their house.

According to the Rooks County Clerk's Office figures, the County valuations show a decrease of $5,267,285.00 for the 2025 year. The 2024 total valuations were $97,825,335.00, with this year's valuations coming in at $92,544,652.00. The 2023 total valuations were $101,319,245.00. The reductions this year came in Real Estate, Utilities, and Oil. Increases were in Minerals and Personal Property.

Lindsey Brown, Stockton’s new high school social studies teacher, grew up in Gove County and graduated from Palco High School in 2007. She recently graduated from Colby Community College with her Associate of Arts in Secondary Education and her Associate of Science in Business Marketing. She is currently attending Fort Hays State University.
