The Stockton Area Chamber of Commerce’s first meeting of the year was held on Tuesday, January 11th at the new location of the Rooks County Farm Bureau Financial Services building. Before the meeting a ribbon cutting was held for the business.

New members sit in on first school board meeting

New board members BJ Hoeting and Chad Sterling attended their first USD 271 School Board meeting on Monday, January 10. After the call to order was made by president Stephanie Niblock, the Board voted to approve the Resolutions for Board organization, establishing the president and vice president of the Board at the first meeting in July, and its regular meeting dates for the 2022 year.

Attention Stockton High School Alumni!

In recent years there has been a steady decline in the attendance of the annual Stockton High School Alumni Banquet on Memorial Day Weekend. Many classes have opted to hold their own reunions. Also, due to the pandemic the “all school” reunion has not been held the past two years, along with it noted that the respective officers are not getting any younger and would like to “retire.”

First Baby for 2022 at RCH

TATE ALAN BECKER was the first baby born in 2022 at Rooks County Health Center. He was born on January 3, 2022, to his proud parents, Garrett and Kari Becker from Stockton. Tate has one brother and two sisters. The RCH Auxiliary once again supported the annual New Year’s Baby Shower and presented the family with a gift basket containing diapers, clothes, toys and other essentials for the new baby and even a few things for his siblings. Pictured along with the Beckers and the newborn son, Tate, include RCH Auxiliary members Kathy Ramsay (center), Janet Languein and Cindi Knipp. Congratulations to the Becker family!

Mr. Tate Alan Becker, arrived ahead of schedule on Monday, January 3rd at 2:43 p.m. His original due date was to be Tuesday, January 11th, but what better way to make his entrance into this world than to change up Mommy’s scheduled plans of attending the back-to-school inservice day and arrive a little early. Kari is Stockton Grade School’s first grade teacher.
