Brooke Renee Desbien, age 31, Hays, passed away Monday, November 28, 2022, at HaysMed.

She was born July 19, 1991, in Hays, the daughter of Kris A. and Michelle Renee (Dreiling) Desbien. In 2009, she graduated from Hays High School then attended Fort Hays State University and Kansas State University, pursuing a kinesiology degree. Brooke was a loving caregiver and stay at home mom who put others’ needs ahead of her own. Brooke loved animals and children, was a talented crafter, phenomenal artist, and expressed herself and her love for others through her writing.  

Dale Eugene Hiser, age 75, of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022 in a Chattanooga hospital.

Dale was born July 11, 1947, in Hays, Kansas, the son of the late Bessie Smith Hiser and Grady Hiser.

His sisters, Bonnie Bain, Freda Lambert and his brothers, Marvin Hiser and Roy Hiser also preceded him in death.

For 51 years, he served in management for several large manufacturing companies including Cessna Aircraft, Copeland-Emerson, Lexington Furniture, Maytag/Whirlpool and Lay-Z-Boy.

The 2022 Pre-Season Basketball Tournament will be held this year in Osborne, with Lakeside, Stockton, Thunder Ridge and the host Bulldogs competing. Games will be held Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, December 6, 8 and 10.

Tuesday, December 6

Game 1 at 3:30 p.m.: Thunder Ridge vs. Lakeside (Girls)

Game 2 at 5:00 p.m.: Thunder Ridge vs. Lakeside (Boys)

Game 3 at 6:30 p.m.: Osborne vs. Stockton (Girls)

Game 4 at 8:00 p.m.: Osborne vs. Stockton (Boys)

Tuesday—Go-Gurt, cereal, fruit, juice, milk.

Wednesday—Breakfast stick, fruit, juice, milk.

Thursday—Breakfast bread, Go-Gurt, fruit, milk.

Monday—Spaghetti with meat sauce, breadstick, tomatoes, garden salad, fruit, milk.
