The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) have issued a public health advisory due to blue-green algae.

SHERMAN COUNTY – The Sherman County Sheriff’s Office reported to the KBI that Briley Horgan was located in Goodland and is now safe. The endangered persons advisory is now canceled. Thanks for your assistance.

SHERMAN COUNTY – The Sherman County Sheriff’s Office requested the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) issue an endangered persons advisory for a missing Goodland girl. The whereabouts of 13-year-old Briley N. Horgan are unknown, and the public’s assistance is requested to help locate her.

Eastbound I-70 has reopened between WaKeeney and Hays in northwest Kansas. The roadway has been cleared of crashes; however, areas of reduced visibility from blowing dust are still possible. Drivers should slow down, use caution, and be prepared for rapidly changing conditions.

The Kansas Department of Transportation has closed eastbound I-70 between WaKeeney and Hays to allow for cleanup of vehicle crashes blocking the roadway.
