Stockton's history and community pride depicted on barn quilt wall

Body
Stockton's rich history and vibrant community are now showcased on the side of the city building with a stunning display of 295 hand-painted barn quilt blocks. This colorful patchwork was the brainchild of Jayne Prockish, who teaches barn quilt painting at her business, The Sunflower Shed.
A PANORAMICVIEW of the massive Barn Quilt Mural in Stockton shows off all 295 blocks hand-painted by many community members. This finishes the project's second phase of painting and hanging all the blocks, with only the signage portion left. The final phase should be completed within the next six months.

Area wheat harvest in full swing

Body
Even with the near-record temperatures in the double digits at the start of this week, that didn’t deter the farmers from getting out in the fields to bring in this year’s wheat harvest. Scattered rain in the area caused a delay of a few days after Mike and Glenda Jirak brought in the first load at the Stockton Farmers Union Elevator on Thursday, June 13th, followed by Shawn McReynolds bringing in the first load at Woodston Coop on Monday, June 17th.
