A three-judge panel, including Judge Angela (Chesney) Coble, from the Kansas Court of Appeals, will hear oral arguments on Tuesday, April 8th, at Fort Hays State University in the Black and Gold Room in Memorial Union beginning at 9:00 a.m. The arguments are open to the public, and students from Fort Hays State University and high schools in and around Hays have been invited to attend.

At the March 25th Rooks County Commission weekly meeting, the commissioners announced that Darin Waylett from Smithfield Farms had reached out to county attorney Danielle Muir. He informed her that they do not intend to proceed with the current proposed boar stud farm project and withdrew their request with Rooks County. The organization also withdrew its application with KDHE at this time. If Smithfield Farms makes a plan to proceed with a different proposal for the project, they will reach back out.
