GOVE COUNTY—The Gove County Sheriff reported on Facebook a potential jury duty scam.

At the Stockton City Commission meeting on Tuesday, January 6th, newly elected commissioner Deb Miller and incumbent Bob Becker were sworn in to serve on the board for the next four years. Miller is taking the place of outgoing commissioner Nathan Glendening.

The menus for the Senior Centers in Rooks County for the week beginning Monday, January 12, are as follows: Monday— Smothered chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, bread, tropical fruit. Tuesday—Lasagna, Italian blend vegetables, bread, pears.

Stockton Monday—Sausage biscuit, rosey applesauce, juice, milk. Tuesday—Breakfast stick with syrup, cucumber slices, peaches, milk.

Happy Sunday evening from McReynolds Farms! I’ve finally made it back home after a week in Basehor, Kansas, at my Aunt Kay’s. Now, Aunt Kay was fresh out of a short hospital stay, and apparently, she was a little disappointed the hospital wasn’t a fancy hotel with room service and unlimited Jell-O.

It’s a new year, and many people will commit to making changes in their lives that could benefit them in some way. Some will make resolutions to improve their physical or financial health, or maybe to heal broken relationships.
