Coy Stamm of Washington, Kansas, a junior in agronomy at Kansas State University, has been awarded the Matthew Kent Stamper Memorial Scholarship through the Arthur Capper Cooperative Center and the Department of Agricultural Economics at Kansas State University.

The other weekend, I watched two deer wander out of a creek bed and meander through a meadow until they caught a scent they didn't like and took off running. After a few strides, it was difficult to pick out their tan hides against the khaki grasses as they ran toward the tree line in the distance.

Developmental Services of Northwest Kansas hosted its annual awards luncheon in Hays on October 22nd. Awards were given throughout the afternoon to staff, persons served, and community members.

The October 21st, 2024 meeting of the Crossroads Quilt Guild was brought to order with refreshments by Nikki Meistrell, Karen Baldwin, and Linda Gardner to enjoy. Roll Call was taken with some Show and Tell. The minutes were read by all with no corrections.

During the first part of November, Native American Heritage Month, the dedication of a new land acknowledgment marker at the base of the bell tower Carillion at Governor State University (GovState) in University Park, Illinois, was held.

Treasurer Denise Murchie was first on the agenda to meet with the Rooks County Commission at their Tuesday meeting on November 12th. Murchie presented the commissioners with small claim vouchers for their signatures.

If you are a believer, you must know that everything that happens is under God’s control. That does not mean that God causes bad things to happen, but rather that He allows them and then uses everything for our good (Romans 12:2).

CARNALITY. After a little introspection and soul-searching, we all would have to admit that we all too often display some unsavory carnality. Not that it's encouraging, but God reveals 'from cover to cover' in the Bible that humanity has had this bent towards fleshliness since the beginning.
