The Council of the City of Woodston met in the Council Chamber at the City Hall on Monday, September 9th, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. Mayor April Yakish called the meeting to order with the following council members present: Kate Terry, Thomas Yakish, Bill Dibble, Larry Morgan, and Charles O’Neill.

RCH Auxiliary awards Memorial Scholarships

The Rooks County Health Center Auxiliary has awarded the following Memorial Scholarships for the academic year 2023-2024: • Jeannine Blake, Plainville, $400, to attend NCKTC, Practical Nursing Program. Redbud Village, Plainville, employs her.

Crossroads Quilt Guild

The monthly meeting of the Crossroads Quilt Guild was held on Monday, September 16th, and was called to order by president Toni Anderson at 6:30 p.m. A special thank you to hostesses Toni Anderson and Nicole Ganoung. Roll Call was answered by 13 members with a Show and Tell or saying if your sports team won. Betty Bedore read the Minutes. Kenda Ross moved, and Bertha McGann seconded to accept them as read. The motion carried. Toni Anderson gave the Treasurer’s Report. Linda Gardner moved to accept the report. Janie Lowry seconded it, and the motion carried. During Old Business, Linda Gardner reported that the VFW was okay with the Guild making a yearly payment to use the building for our meetings. Janie Lowry reported that our donation to the Stockton VFW will help fund their Voice of Democracy Contest. Nicole Ganoung moved, and Connie Haselhorst seconded the motion to help fund this program. The motion carried. Bertha McGann reported that the donation to Palco Pride would help fund a bench. Toni Anderson moved, and Nicole Ganoung seconded the motion to help with this project. The motion carried. Under New Business, Toni Anderson read a request from the Missouri Quilt Museum. No action was taken. There were no Committee Reports.
