Body The Senate Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee passed critical legislation May 15th to help Kansas small businesses owners, paying attention to our crucial Kansas agricultural community.

Body The family of John and Alice Lurane (Pratt) Paulson is requesting a card shower to honor them on their 70th wedding anniversary. The couple was married on June 2, 1950 in Stockton.

Body The youngster, with his birthday cake, celebrating his 60th birthday (30th… second time around) in last week’s issue was Kendall Byfield, Stockton.

Body The annual meeting of the Rooks County Historical Society, which had been postponed in April, will be held this Thursday evening, May 21st at 7:30 p.m. No program will be included.

Body At the start of the Rooks County Commission meeting held on Tuesday, May 5th, health nurse Lori Eichman updated the commissioners on the COVID-19 pandemic. There are six recovered cases in the County with no active cases recorded.

Body The SHS Awards Banquet will be done by slideshow this year and will be posted on the school’s Facebook page and YouTube channel. The slideshow will be released on Friday, May 15th after the students have checked in their items at school.

Body Stockton Recreation Director Aftan Tso announced recently the SRC Fitness Center is set to reopen on Monday, May 18. Normal 24-hour access will not be available, however, the Rec will be open from 4:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m, and 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
