The meeting was called to order on Monday, January 17th by President Lynda Falley. Hosts were the officers: president Lynd Falley, vice-president Toni Anderson, secretary Linda Gardner, and treasurer Diane Maddy. Twenty-three members answered Roll Call plus one guest. We received a thank you note from Mary Roe, winner of the Opportunity Quilt. Diane Maddy gave the Treasurer’s Report with two bills presented.

Tierney Kester named to Dean’s List at WU

Tierney Kester, Topeka, is among the more than 850 students qualified for the fall 2021 Dean’s List at Washburn University. To qualify for the Dean’s List, a student must be enrolled in 12 hours of graded credits and earn a semester grade point average of 3.4 to 3.99.

Four from Rooks County earn fall 2021 semester honors from KSU

Nearly 4,480 Kansas State University students have earned semester honors for their academic performance in the fall 2021 semester, four of which come from Rooks County. Students earning a grade point average for the semester of 3.75 or above on at least 12 graded credit hours receive semester honors along with commendations from their deans.

Terry Odle: ‘On January 19, 2022, several members of the USD 271 School Board met with representatives from Plainville and Palco to discuss how to best serve the students in Rooks County. In plain English, that means some form of consolidation of the three school districts. Not everyone will be in favor, but it appears a majority of the Stockton School Board is.”
