Trey Kuhlmann of Stockton and Noah Hansen of Plainville are two of more than 4,120 Kansas State University students earning semester honors for their academic performance in the spring 2022 semester. Students earning a grade point average for the semester of 3.75 or above on at least 12 graded credit hours receive semester honors along with commendations from their deans.

The June Stockton Area Chamber of Commerce membership meeting was held on Tuesday, June 14th at The Sunflower Shed. After the minutes of the March meeting were reviewed and approved, the members present talked about the last quarterly meetings for the year with the potential locations to be at the VFW on Monday, September 13th and Solutions North Bank on Monday, December 13th for the annual Jingle Mingle.

PROGRESS CONTINUES on the construction of the new Solomon Valley Manor building as the outside walls go up and the roof material is laid down. This is a picture of the building facing east giving everyone an idea of how the finished product will look.

On May 25, at almost 8:30 p.m., Kylee Jo Ashbaugh, 24, of Ellis, was southbound on 3 Rd., a half-mile south of Y Rd., when she struck a cow. Ashbaugh, who was properly restrained, was checked by EMS due to airbag deployment but refused transport. The 2018 GMC Terrain she was driving had extensive damage on the front end and had to be towed from the scene. The owner of the cow is Santana Doreen Towns of Palco.

The Stockton High School Class of 1961 met over the weekend in Stockton and celebrated their 61-Year Class Reunion. Some of the members of the class enjoyed visiting and watching the cars cruise on Friday night. On Saturday, several attended the car show, had lunch together and visited during the day. In the evening they all gathered at the 4-H Building, where they enjoyed a meal catered by The Daily Grind.

The Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine presented around $160,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors at its recent 2022 Senior Banquet. One of those seniors is Colton Hull of Woodston.
