IN AUGUST OF 1991, the Home Club and Stockton EHU presented the Stockton Public Library with the book “The Wars of Peggy Hull,” the life and times of a war correspondent. Presenting the signed copy by authors Wilda M. Smith and Eleanor A. VIC JACOBS, STOCKTON CITY’S HEAD ELECTRICIAN, was honored at a Retirement Meal at the American Legion Hall in August 1991. A good crowd of City and former City employees were on hand to wish Vic well. The picture from left shows Vic’s wife, Betty, Vic, Gorman Rubottom, who is presenting Vic with a gold pocket watch, and Vic and Betty’s son, Jon, who was taking over his father’s duties with the City.

THE WILKINSONS, a Canadian country music trio, were the Rooks County Free Fair’s grandstand entertainment in August 1999. They reached the Top 5 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks in late 1998 with the single “26 Cents.” Getting a picture with the group at their Meet and Greet after the concert were Vanessa (Beilman) Schumacher, Tyler Wilkinson, Sadie (Laska) Look, Amanda Wilkinson, and Steve Wilkinson.
