This ‘n That
* Actress Yvette Mimieux passed away at the age of 80. She made many films throughout her lifetime with my favorite being the classic, “Where The Boys Are.” (FYI: If you haven’t seen it, it is worth checking out.) Besides Mimieux, the all-star cast included Connie Francis, Dolores Hart, Paula Prentiss, George Hamilton, Jim Hutton and Frank Gorshin. And if you are of a certain age, I bet you are singing, or at least humming, the theme song made famous by Francis.
* Yes, I have already ordered some flower seeds for this spring!
* Am I the only one in the world that loves the smell of freshly brewed coffee in the morning, but doesn’t like to drink it?
* Who remembers when our GPS was something like— “Drive past Sam’s, then turn where the old barn used to be. Go a little ways until you come to a big white house. Turn left until you drive across that old wooden bridge. Mike’s house is just past the place where those dogs used to chase us.”
* Who agrees with me that January was just one giant Monday?
* How many of you made those gum wrapper chains back in the day? Man, we had to chew a lot of gum to make those chains. And why did we do it anyway? Those were crazy hard to make.
* Read this and I couldn’t agree more….“How voting in elections should go: 1. Be a U.S. Citizen; 2. Register to Vote; 3. Show Voter ID Card.; 4. Vote in Person. It’s really that simple.”
* Movie star Natalie Wood is Maria in “West Side Story.” You can’t remake this classic.
* A shout-out to the truckers in Canada!
* And why do children of actors get jobs in films just because one or both of their parents are actors? Just because your mom might be a good actor doesn’t necessarily make you one too. You have to have this thing called talent.
* Since the passing of Alex Trebek, I haven’t watched Jeopardy.
* Some of my family members attended a few of the Kansas City Chiefs games during the playoff weekends. Maybe you saw them up in the stands. They were wearing red.
