Palco High School’s Trinity Couse turned in a fine performance at the Hoxie Invitational track meet last Friday, April 10th, capturing first place in the javelin for his strong effort. Couse secured the gold medal with a throw of 111-0, finishing more than three feet ahead of the runner-up to highlight a strong showing for the Lady Roosters.

Stockton High School senior Cheyenne Hoeting wasted no time making her mark on the 2026 track season, breaking her own school record in the 3200-meter run at the Tigers’ season-opening meet in Hoxie last Friday.

The Plainville Cardinals turned in a strong early- season performance at the Hoxie Invitational track meet last Friday, with the boys capturing the team title and the girls finishing third. The Cardinal boys claimed first place with 138 points, outpacing Quinter (117) and Hoxie (106).

The Stockton High School golf team has released an updated schedule for the 2026 season. Competing at the junior varsity level, the Tigers opened their schedule this week in WaKeeney and will continue on the road next Thursday at a tournament hosted by Wheatland/ Grinnell.

The 2026 track and field season gets underway this week for Stockton’s junior high and high school teams, with both squads hitting the road before returning home for a full day of competition. The Stockton Junior High Tigers will be the first to compete, traveling to Downs on Thursday for the Lakeside Meet, which is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.

Boys win meet; Girls set new record The Plainville High School track and field teams kicked off the 2026 season in impressive fashion last Thursday at the La Crosse Invitational, highlighted by a team championship from the Cardinal boys and a record-breaking performance by the Lady Cardinals. Plainville’s boys captured first place with 93 points, edging host La Crosse, who finished with 83.
