This week's accident reports from Rooks County detail a variety of incidents that resulted in some injuries and several fines being issued to the drivers. They include a one-vehicle accident at Stockton City Cemetery, a two-vehicle collision at an intersection in Stockton, a motorcycle being blown off the highway on Highway 183, and four deer involved in different occurrences. Additionally, there were both two-vehicle and one-vehicle accidents on county roads.

The following 13 accidents occurred in Rooks County from November 15, 2024, to January 3, 2025. Two of those included two cars, while two others were one-vehicle accidents. The remaining nine accidents all involved deer.

So this week's report consists of eight accidents involving deer, a two-vehicle accident within the city limits of Stockton, and a pickup pulling a trailer and losing control south of Stockton.

Most of the accidents in Rooks County in this week’s report involved deer. However, another involved a cow/bull, a hitand- run in the Stockton city limits, and a one-vehicle accident along U.S.

This week's Rooks County Sheriff's Department report includes three accidents—one involving a deer, a backup, and a two-vehicle accident. On Saturday, March 2, at 7:10 a.m., Matthias Stemberger, 36, was driving north on US Highway 183 in a black 2023 BMW 330 owned by Sixt Titling Trust of Denver when a deer ran out of the east ditch and struck the front left of the vehicle.

A two-vehicle accident on Thursday, December 21, at 4:45 p.m., and reported to authorities the next day, resulted in minor damage to both vehicles. Stanley Perrell, age 56, Hays, was stopped approximately 10 feet north from US Highway 24 on US Highway 183 facing south when a purple 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer owned by Monica Schwerman of Phillipsburg struck the rear end of the vehicle being driven by Perrell.

Another mixed bag of accidents makes up this week's report from the Rooks County Sheriff's Department. The first accident, involving a deer, occurred Friday, December 1, at 7:20 a.m., at milepost 37 on K18 in southeast Rooks County, approximately 50 feet east of 27 Road.

Various accidents, from deer to backup accidents and rollovers resulting in injuries, make up this week’s Rooks County Sheriff’s Department report. On Thursday, October 19, at 8:55 p.m., Zachary James Gardner, 20, Stockton, was backing his 2012 Mazda M3H out of a driveway on North Second Street in Stockton when he backed too far and struck the front driver’s side of an occupied 2015 Ford Explorer that was parked on Second Street (approximately 50 feet west from Pine Street) by Cory Michael St Clair, 34, of Stockton.
