This week's Rooks County Sheriff's Department report includes three accidents—one involving a deer, a backup, and a two-vehicle accident. On Saturday, March 2, at 7:10 a.m., Matthias Stemberger, 36, was driving north on US Highway 183 in a black 2023 BMW 330 owned by Sixt Titling Trust of Denver when a deer ran out of the east ditch and struck the front left of the vehicle.

Two-vehicle accident in Stockton Dec. 21st

A two-vehicle accident on Thursday, December 21, at 4:45 p.m., and reported to authorities the next day, resulted in minor damage to both vehicles. Stanley Perrell, age 56, Hays, was stopped approximately 10 feet north from US Highway 24 on US Highway 183 facing south when a purple 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer owned by Monica Schwerman of Phillipsburg struck the rear end of the vehicle being driven by Perrell.

On Thursday, October 19, at 8:55 p.m., Zachary James Gardner, 20, Stockton, was backing his 2012 Mazda M3H out of a driveway on North Second Street in Stockton when he backed too far and struck the front driver’s side of an occupied 2015 Ford Explorer that was parked on Second Street (approximately 50 feet west from Pine Street) by Cory Michael St Clair, 34, of Stockton.
