The Rooks County Healthcare Foundation presented an Appreciation for Rural Health evening to benefit the Stockton Medical Clinic. Over 300 people were in attendance for the affair.

Fifty bikers took part in the annual Toys For Tots Poker Run, including Wayne Sander, S. Sander, Dick Sherbondy, Leo Kollman, Terry Dunlap, Keith Chesney, Dena States, and Kevin States.

What Was Going On 14 Years Ago New Stockton teachers featured in articles were Jennifer Kesler, Mark Wildeman (science), and Tricia Morgan (special education teacher). Gail McComb of Stockton was set to be inducted into the Kansas Cowboy Hall of Fame at the Boot Hill Museum in Dodge City.

Some of the new Stockton teachers featured in articles were Jon Vande Kopple, (speech pathologist), Erika Householter (business), and Clint Bedore (K-12 physical education).

What Was Going On 14 Years Ago The Stockton High School KAY chapter earned the Gold Award for the 2010-2011 school year.

An article about the loss of the Kansas group of fallen heroes Army Chief Warrant officer 2 Bryan Nichols, Army Spec. Alexander Bennett, and Army Spc. Spencer C. Duncan, who were part of Bravo Company, 7th Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment, during a rescue mission in Afghanistan was featured.

The Rooks County Free Fair was marking its 132nd year with a full week of entertainment. Little Texas AND Restless Heart were set to perform.

Former Stocktonite Philisene Probasco, 92, had moved to the St John’s Assisted Living Complex in Hays in 2009. Once she moved in she began walking inside the facility for exercise and kept track of her miles.

GrandChampionsofthe Rooks County 4-H Fashion Show were Nate Billinger, Madeline Towns, Tatum Hamilton, Cecelia Beck, Rebekah Niblock, Monica Towns, and Jacob Towns.
