Body Within the next two weeks, drilling is expected to start on another oil test well near Stockton. It is located in the northeast corner of section 26-7-17 on the E. C. Stebbins land. J. A. Shoemaer of Wichita is making the location, and R. E. Hess is the contracting driller.

Body Two more oil wells will soon be drilled in Rooks County. Heimerich and Payne have made a location and have the cellar dug for their test on the Bedard estate land just west of Zurich.

Body Another Works Progress Administration project was started in Rooks County last Thursday, according to Franklin R. Trinkle, area WPA engineer. It consists of graveling, earthwork, culverts, and a 30-foot bridge on a four-and-three-quarter- mile stretch northeast of Palco.

Body The Margray Oil Corporation Bemis No. 1-B has not had a production test because trouble has been encountered while pulling the big pipe. Hydraulic jacks have been placed, and work to pull the pipe is underway.

Body * The big oil news of the week is the strike made by the Margay Oil Company of Tulsa at their Bemis well, the east offset of the Bemis discovery well. Monday evening, oil was hit at 3,282, and the hole filled up to 2,800 feet in 30 minutes.

Body The approach of spring and the unusually large amount of dust in the air on Sunday and Monday, no doubt, brought back many memories of last year's dust storms. Farmers, especially, are wondering if there will be a recurrence of soil blowing.

Body After three weeks of extensive remodeling, the interior of Sperry's Cafe now presents a decided change in appearance. Many improvements have been made, including the installation of three large booths on the west side.
