One of the messages athletic coaches will purvey to their players is when things go bad, or you get knocked down, “get back up.” You can’t stay down feeling sorry for yourself. Get back up and get back in the game with an even more determined effort. It was this type of attitude that Paul and Barnabas needed in their continued efforts in the area we have been studying from the book of Acts. Last week, the two disciples were preaching in Iconium and Lystra, an area now known as Turkey. The message they delivered, along with the miracle they performed, led some to believe they were the Greek gods Zeus and Hermes. This angered Paul and Barnabas, and they related this to the listeners.

Being a farm wife is like being the CEO of a chaotic, muddy, and occasionally smelly empire. Except instead of a fancy office, my 'boardroom' is the laundry room, and my staff consists of cows, a farmer who never takes coffee breaks, and dogs that think they're the boss.

Last week, we related how Paul and Barnabas, despite the many obstacles in their way, continued to preach the Word in the area that is now known as Turkey. There was opposition to what they were saying, but they continued to do what the Holy Spirit led them to do.

The Hobart FCE ladies met on August 25, 2025, at the Stockton Church of the Restoration at 7 p.m. Susan called the meeting to order and led us in the Flag Salute.

We continue to receive moisture! Our gauge had 1.20 for the total of the last few days. The mower was finally repaired, new blades put on, and I found a sunny day to do some mowing. I was on the verge of calling one of those rent a goat deals.
