Avery Lynn Kuhlmann

Chase and Gabriel Kuhlmann are excited to announce the birth of their baby sister, Avery Lynn Kuhlmann, at 5:05 p.m. on Monday, February 8, 2021, at Hays Medical Center in Hays. She weighed in at 7 pounds, 6 ounces, and was 20 inches long. Her parents are Mitchell and Shelby Kuhlmann of Stockton.

The January meeting of the Star 4-H Club was called to order on January 10, 2021, at 7:30 p.m., via Zoom by president Ryan Mongeau. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Oliva and the 4-H Pledge by Jonathan.

The menus for the week beginning Monday, February 22, are as follows: Monday—Pork cutlet, hashbrown casserole, California blend vegetables, bread, applesauce. Tuesday—Chili, Ambrosia fruit salad, crackers, cinnamon roll.

Fire calls for Stockton Fire Department

The Stockton Fire Department was called out on Tuesday, February 2nd at approximately 11:00 p.m. to 16 Road between E and F Roads for a control burn in a rubbish pile that had flared back up. It was quickly contained.
THE STOCKTON FIRE DEPARTMENT was on the scene at Stitch & Chatter on Wednesday, February 3rd at 8:00 p.m. to contain a fire that had started when embers from a cutting torch had blown into the wall cavity, catching the wood structure on fire.

2020 Windbreak Award Winner Larry and Stephanie Vohs

The 2020 Rooks County Windbreak Award winner is Larry and Stephanie Vohs of rural Plainville. They have worked diligently to establish windbreaks on their property. Larry’s family homesteaded on the property in the early 1900’s and there have been five generations caring for the land.

Conservation Compliance

In 1985 the Food Security Act was passed into law. Within this law there are two important provisions to producers who participate in USDA programs: the Highly Erodible Land Conservation (HEL) Compliance and Wetland Conservation (WC) Compliance provisions.
