Stockton Chamber of Commerce Executive Director and business leader, Jayne Prockish, has become a certified facilitator to teach the Destination Creation Course, a class designed to help business owners increase their revenue and customer traffic during the COVID-19 pandemic.

LIFTING SPIRITS—Carolers from the United Methodist Church in Stockton and Woodston gathered at the Solomon Valley Manor last Sunday where they serenaded the residents with old hymns. Through the use of a microphone, residents and staff inside the dining room of the Manor were able to clearly hear the musical selections which included “Jesus Loves Me,” “Blessed Assurance,” and “In The Garden,” among others. By using Walkie Talkies, the residents were able to request songs. The carolers first performed Christmas songs for the residents back in December, and because it was well-received, they decided to continue the event. Joan Balderston, UMC song leader, said she hoped to do this once a month. It was relayed to Balderston that several of the residents inside were singing along. Among those lending their voices on the beautiful, sunny afternoon were, from left: Kirk Green, Brett Gartrell, Gregg Gartrell, Wayne Madison, Jack Gager, Sherry Gager, Jerry McReynolds, Alton Hazen, Scott Bennett, Terri Bennett, Diane McReynolds, Vicki Green, Sally Lowry, Susan Thayer, Emil Benavides, Pastor Michelle Byerly, Anita Conger, Margaret Welker, and Joan Balderston.
