(This article is taken from the unapproved February 12th Woodston City Council minutes.) The Council of the City of Woodston met in the Council Chamber at the City Hall on February 12th, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. Mayor April Yakish called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

The Hobart Homemakers FCE group met on Monday, February 26, 2024, at 7 pm at the Stockton Church of the Restoration. The meeting was called to order, and the flag salute was recited. The roll call was, 'Do you like lavender?' Ten members answered the question.

The Rooks County Commission approved the 2024 Rooks County Free Fair Board appointments at their regular meeting on Tuesday, February 27th. Fair board members for this year are as follows: Dean Hrabe (president), Kelly Muir (secretary), Laura Moffet (treasurer), Steve Cook (first vice president), Anna Luna (second vice president), Jodi Barker, Joe Becker, Cade Beesley, Tom Benoit, Leonard Bristow, Kirk Green, Jessica Iwanski, Doug Keas, Jeff Keller, Dixie Miller, Jerry Miller, Ruthie Muir, Jason Ochampaugh, Jessi Plante, Brian Pelton, David Pieper, Steve Riffel, Shawn Roy, Henry Sander, and Willie Wilkerson.

Darrell Rubottom, of Woodston (regarding last week’s story where Judge Bigge's presented the statewide judicial award to Judge Richard Flax): “Richard was a government and history student of mine at Ransom High School. Later I encouraged him to become a District Magistrate Judge. I've been very proud of his service.”
