In a heartwarming effort to inspire the next generation of givers, the Heartland Community Foundation is proud to announce a unique initiative for Give Fest 2024. Every 5th grader in Ellis, Rooks, and Trego counties will receive $10 to donate to a local nonprofit of their choice!

The Hobart Homemakers FCE ladies met on September 23, 2024, at 7 pm at the Stockton Historical Museum. We opened the meeting with the flag salute. The roll call was, 'Where were you born, and what is your family's heritage?' Ten members and one visitor answered the question.

Healthworks is pleased to announce the successful completion of the 23rd Annual Health Care Scholarship Program. Healthworks partnered with the Kansas Hospital Human Resources Association and the Kansas Association of Health Care Executives to provide 24 scholarships totaling $35,000.

The Stockton Grade School fourth grade class walked to the Rooks County Courthouse on Monday, September 23rd. The boys and girls have been studying the four social sciences: Geography, History, Economics, and Civics.

Governor Laura Kelly announced Monday, September 23, the 14 grant recipients of the Rural Champions program's second cohort. The selected Rural Champions will join a growing statewide network of grassroots individuals tackling critical projects in their respective rural communities.

The Rooks County Historical Society held its regular monthly meeting on Sunday, Sept. 15th. Seven members and eight board members were present. The Omar Knoll art exhibit, planned for Sunday, Oct. 6th, was discussed, and everything seems to be falling into place.

The monthly meeting of the Mt. Pleasant 4-H Club was held on July 7, 2024, at Harding Hall at 5:00 pm. Emerson Lowry led the Pledge of Allegiance, and Taylor Inglsbee led the 4-H Pledge. Twenty-nine members and two leaders answered the roll call.
