The Hobart Homemakers FCE ladies met on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 7 p.m. at the Stockton Church of the Restoration. The meeting was called to order, and we recited the flag salute. The roll call was 'What are your summer plans?' We had nine members present.

What is absolute truth? Today, the meaning of the word truth has certainly become ambiguous for some. Some will believe about anything they hear or read. Searching for the absolute truth has become a lost art. However, as Christians, we must know and understand the absolute truth and stand up for what we believe.

STORMS. In 1997, we cooked our Christmas dinner on our propane grill - a turkey, potatoes to mash, sweet potato and green bean casseroles, and dressing. Why use a grill? On December 16, super-typhoon Paka battered Guam with torrential rain for hours, along with 140 mph winds and gusts to 185 mph. We were still without power, and thus, we grilled. It was quite the storm, to be sure! By God's grace, no one died. In Mark 4, we read that as Jesus is taking His disciples across the Sea of Galilee, 'a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling' (v. 37). It was so severe that the disciples woke up a sleeping Jesus and asked, 'Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?'

The Stockton Junior High Superintendent’s Honor Roll, Principal’s Honor Roll, and Academic Honor Roll have been released for the Second Semester. Grade requirements are as follows: Superintendent’s Honor Roll— 4.0 GPA (95% and above in all classes).

On Sunday, we welcomed Pecos and Lynda Inchaustegui to First Christian Church to share their Good News to Mexico ministry. Pecos and Lynda have been in Mexico City since 1978 and have been supported by the FCC throughout those years. Their marriage ministry has taken them all over Mexico and the United States and focuses on teaching God’s principles for Christ-centered marriages and families.

The 2023-24 Stockton High School (Grades 9-12) Semester 2 Honor Rolls have been released. To be eligible, the student must be considered full-time and have no D’s, F’s, or incomplete for the grading period.
