First Christian Church of Plainville

Body
As Christians, we know that God is not just an idea. Our study has been looking at who God is. Over the last three weeks, we have discussed man being made in God's image and how science (cause and effect) leads us in the same direction. Pastor Matt continued our study this week by stating, 'God is spirit.'

Rooks County Historical Society

Body
The Rooks County Historical Society held its regular monthly meeting on Sunday, June 16, with a nice turnout of fourteen members and eight board members. Their active participation was evident as they discussed various topics, including the light bulb fliers and the need to change some wiring for the smoke alarms. The by-laws were also amended, reflecting the society's evolving needs. A tax exception for the annex was a key point of discussion, and the board has decided to take proactive steps to recover the tax exemption status. The meeting was adjourned, marking another successful gathering of our dedicated members and board.—Reporter
