Body Kathy Dix had learned that the 6.5 magnitude earthquake that struck off the coast of northern California on January 9th hit about 27 miles from Eureka, a coastal city where her son Tim Bouchey lived. Bouchey said his family was all right and that they were home when the quake hit.
