The Rooks County Health Department received a plaque of appreciation for their excellent service in the Novel H1N1 Influenza vaccine during the 2009 pandemic.

The preliminary returns of the 1930 census indicate that although Rooks County is still losing population, the rate of decrease is far less than in the previous decade. The Census Bureau reports a population of 9,534, while in 1920, the total was 9,966, and in 1910, it was 11,282.

The Stockton Area Arts Council was set to present the children’s musical “Enchanted Sleeping Beauty, the Legend of Briar Rose” at the historic Nova Theatre, with one performance a dinner event catered by Shirley May’s Deli.
