Yesteryear

This week the firm of Snyder Brothers is dissolved, Roy Snyder purchasing the interest of his brother Harold. Some three years ago the boys purchased the Rexall Store of O. S.

A massive winter ice storm, coupled with high winds, caused a widespread power outage for more than 20,000 customers.

MEMBERS of the 1994 seven-grade boys basketball team is our yesteryear picture this week.

* And So They Say: Rae Hageman: “People are funny, Saturday in Stockton most of the stores were open, but the bank was closed; and in Plainville the bank was open, but the stores were closed.” Red Hagan: “I don’t know, but I am afraid we will have more accidents in Stockton this year.

Home for Christmas: Delbert Crowell, who is enlisted in the Navy, is home on furlough from Honolulu. Walter Brown and Duffie Hindman, who are attending Washburn College, are spending Christmas vacation at home.

The New Year was just arriving and Stockton merchants were prepared to greet the First Baby of 2007 with many fine gifts, cash and gift certificates. The previous year, the 2006 Stork Derby was won by Brayden Payne Taylor, son of Clayton and Dr. Ann Taylor, who kept us all waiting until February 2.

PROGRESS WAS COMING ALONG NICELY during the construction of Stockton’s new middle school building in December of 1994. Even the weather was cooperating..

* And So They Say: Cleo Baughman: My own mother won’t ride with me in my plane, but when I take my mother-in-law up, I always tell her ‘no back seat driving,’ and she obeys.
