This And That * I’m sad to hear that James Earl Jones passed away. I loved him in the movies “Field of Dreams,” and “The Sandlot.” And, oh yeah, he was the voice of Darth Vader and Mufasa, as if anybody didn’t know that! He is one of a handful of actors who earned an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony in one year.

Dear Editor: I don't know much about a lot of things, but I do know a little about crime. Recently, it was reported by the FBI and politicians that the crime rate nationwide was down.

International Overdose Awareness Day, August 31, is the most extensive annual campaign to end overdose. The campaign raises awareness of overdose, which has impacted every community. Too many families have lost loved ones, but this campaign and others like it can save lives.
