Lynette Gae Eaton, age 67, passed away peacefully at home on March 28, 2023, in Olathe, Kansas. She bravely fought her battle with cancer for 26 years.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 8 at 3:00 p.m., with visitation following until 5:00 p.m. in Garrett Chapel, College Church of the Nazarene, 2020 East Sheridan Street, Olathe, Kansas. Burial will take place on Monday, April 10, at 11:00 a.m. at Green Mound Cemetery, rural Palco.

Goodland resident Theodore "Ted" Harold Swayne, 86, passed away after a long illness at Goodland Regional Medical Center on March 31, 2023.

Ted was born on December 1, 1936, northeast of Kanorado to Henry Franklin Swayne Sr. and Wilma Ethel (Doggett) Swayne. He was one of seven children. He attended school in Kanorado and graduated from Kanorado High School in 1955.

Eugene “Gene” Wagner, age 89, Downs, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023.

He was born September 24, 1933, to Frank and Philomena (Gradig) Wagner on a farm south of Downs.

Mr. Wagner was a farmer.

He is preceded in death by his sisters, Leona Budke and Loretta Eilert, and grandson, Justin Wagner.

James Willis Feil, 67, of Russell, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer with his loving family by his side.

He was born July 4, 1955, in Stockton, Kansas. He was the son of Willis Leo and Georgia Marie (Mai) Feil. He grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School in the Class of '73. He then attended Kansas University for a year before transferring to Fort Hays State University, where he graduated with a degree in Accounting.

Margaret Ann Allen, age 66, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023, at Manna House of Prayer, Concordia, Kansas, where she had requested to spend her last days in hospice with the Sisters of St. Joseph.

She was born September 2, 1956, in Hays, Kansas, the daughter of Gladys M. Phillips and Thomas C. Allen of Plainville, Kansas. She graduated from Plainville Rural High School in 1974 and Fort Hays State University in 1978.

Shirley Ann Wenner, age 74, passed away March 24, 2023, at Pleasant Hills Assisted Living in Hutchinson.

She was born July 1, 1948, in Caldwell, to Everett and Dora Lacey.

Shirley graduated from Caldwell High School in 1966 and attended Salt City Business College. She worked as an administrative assistant for USD 308 for 29 years. Shirley enjoyed cooking and baking, as well as crocheting. More than anything, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Shirley was also a member of CrossPoint Church.

JoAnn Phillips, age 86, passed away on March 24, 2023, at  Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital in WaKeeney.

She was born on September 11, 1936, in Gridley, Kansas, the daughter of Clarence Cokeley Sr. and Hazel (Povenmire) Cokeley. 

At age eight, she moved with her family to Palco, Kansas, where she attended Palco schools from 2nd grade through high school.

She was born June 6, 1930, in Plainville, Kansas, to Ellery and Esther Grace (Blauer) Taylor.

Rita Elizabeth (Hogan) Malin of Lawrence, Kansas, and former Plainville, Kansas resident, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 1, 2023, at Bridge Haven in Lawrence, Kansas.

Rita was born to Bill and Rita (Lindley) Hogan of Natoma, Kansas, on August 9, 1933. She grew up in Natoma and graduated from Natoma High School.

On August 22, 1951, she married Joseph Malin, the love of her life, and together they raised a family of nine children on their farm south of Plainville, Kansas. She spent her last few years near family in Lawrence, Kansas.
