Janet was born on June 14, 1943, in Hannibal, Missouri, to Alfred and Roberta Dakan and was raised by her grandparents, Harry and Glenna Pulliam, whom she called Dad and Mom.

Michael Winters, 53, Kensington, went to be with his beloved mother on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Hays Med Center with his sisters by his side. 

He was born August 7, 1972, to William (Bill) and Ruth Winters in Vernal, Utah. He grew up in Stockton, where he met the mother of his children and his closest and dearest friend, Melanie Romey. 

Michael worked as the General Manager for McDonald’s and Sonic in Norton. He retired in 2020 after a July 4 firework accident that had burned most of his upper body.

Sandra Hawerlander, age 78, Overland Park, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

She was born on March 23, 1947, in Gardner, Kansas, the daughter of Virgil and Doris (Miller) Olson.

Sandi moved to Stockton, Kansas, in 1956 with her parents and attended Stockton schools until relocating to Russell, where she completed her education.

She enjoyed being active in the Olathe Community Theatre, where she performed, created costumes, and took on various other roles. She spent most of her working life as an office administrator and once owned a children's clothing store.

Phillipsburg resident Royce Ratliff passed away peacefully at home on November 4, 2025, at the age of 78.

He was born on June 2, 1947, in Smith Center, Kansas, to his parents, Wayne and Pearl (Gutzman) Ratliff.

Royce was united in marriage to Connie (Olson) Ratliff on September 15, 1968, at the First Christian Church in Smith Center.

Royce is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Pearl Ratliff; his brothers, Dean and Brian Ratliff; and his sisters, Diane Kern and Coleen Gale.

Janice Elaine Keller, 73, of Stockton, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. 

She was born on May 10, 1952, in Stockton, Kansas, to Jesse and Dorothy (Young) Hunt. In 1976, she married the love of her life, Kent A. Keller, in Stockton.

Janice grew up in rural Stockton and graduated from Stockton High School in 1970. Throughout her life, she worked for Osborne GT, Schult Mobile Homes, and later as a clerk at Webster’s Super Market.

A Celebration of Life for William Martin “Bill” Delaney, 68, will be held on Saturday, November 22, from 1-4 p.m. at 183 Lanes, 906 S. Cedar in Stockton, for friends and family.

Bill passed away on August 27, 2025, in Anchorage, Alaska. 

He was born on May 12, 1957, to Robert L. and Betty Ellen (Earl) Delaney.

He grew up in Woodston and graduated from Stockton High School in 1975.

Karen Adelia (Bell) Ashbaugh, 85, of Ellis, Kansas, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, in Denton, Texas.

She was born on November 9, 1939, in Moscow, Kansas.

Karen was a devoted wife to the late Darwin Ashbaugh, whom she married in Moscow on August 2, 1964. Together, they built a life centered on faith, love, and service. Darwin preceded her in death in 2008, after 43 years of marriage.

Larry D. Baxter, 79, of Holton, Kansas, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, with family by his side.

He was born May 5, 1946, in Plainville, the son of Jack Duane and Ileta Faye (McCune) Baxter. 

Larry attended Stockton High School. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1974, serving three tours in Vietnam and earning the rank of Staff Sergeant.
