Jean LaVon Hunt passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at the Rooks County Health Center in Plainville, Kansas, at the age of 93.

She was born on October 8, 1926 to William and Myrtle (Sines) Lafferty in Otis, Colorado. She grew up in Marion, Nebraska and attended Danbury High School where she graduated with the Class of 1945.

On August 9, 1945 she married Jesse Hunt. The couple moved to Palco in 1970 where she was a homemaker and raised their children. For many years she was a member of the Redline Church of God in Palco.

Funeral services for Cecil L. Overlease, age 89, of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 2020, at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery near Manhattan, Kansas with Reverend Dale Engle officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Ft. Riley Honor Guard. Cecil passed away Tuesday, September 15, at his home in T or C.  

CHUCK WILLIAMS was the September Chamber Volunteer of the Month in 1997. He is pictured with Chamber president Elaine Davenport. Chuck had served as the Chamber president in 1994 and 1996, and was a member of several local organizations.
