Evelyn Marie DeBey of Phillipsburg, Kansas, age 71, went to be with the Lord on December 6th, 2020, at Smith County Memorial Hospital.

Carrol Verne McQueen, Stockton, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at the Rooks County Health Center in Plainville at the age of 84.

He was born on July 27, 1936 in Concordia, Kansas to Verne and Daisy (Huffman) McQueen. Carrol was united in marriage to Deanna Anderson on September 7, 1956 in Phillipsburg, Kansas. To this union three children were born: Edward, Cassie, and David.

In 1847, William Cummings, just sixteen years old, was singing one of the tenor leads in Felix Mendelssohn’s opera “Elijah.” For the young tenor, to be directed by one of the most renowned composers in the world was a dream come true. It is little wonder that that night made an indelible impression on Cummings and ultimately gave birth to a marvelous duo of lyric and melody.
