Rooks County continues to see a high number of new COVID-19 cases. The absenteeism rate is increasing (6.0% above the baseline from 2019-2020). The positive testing rate is 33.8% this week and the two week incident rate remains high. RCH reports they are still having difficulty finding receiving hospitals when patients require transfer to a higher level of care.

Final area fall harvest numbers

The final numbers of the 2020 fall harvest are as follows: 510,200 bushels of milo and 273,300 bushels of corn taken in at the Stockton Farmers Union Elevator; and 312,500 bushels of milo and 415,000 bushels of corn taken in at Woodston Coop. A grand total of 1,722,000 bushels of milo, corn and soybeans have been taken in this year, making it the second largest fall harvest on record. This fall harvest is 90% of last year’s crop and stands at 146% of a five-year average.
