Governor Laura Kelly today announced that she will be introducing a bill in the Kansas Legislature to “Axe the Food Tax,” and eliminate the state sales tax on food in Kansas.

Gloria Ellen Chard, Hays, passed away on November 1, 2021, at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas at the age of 84.

She was born on May 22, 1937, to George and Lillian (Novotny) Stalnaker in Rooks County, Kansas. She was united in marriage to Vernon Dean Chard on June 15, 1953, in Stockton, Kansas. The couple was blessed with six children: Larry, Gary, Randy, Dave, Rodney, and Jan.

William Joseph “Bill” Buyak passed away on October 30, 2021, at his home in Chase, Kansas at the age of 81.
