Vernon “Leroy” Hutton passed away on October 7, 2023, at the Phillips County Retirement Center in Phillipsburg at the age of 91.

He was born February 7, 1932, in Rooks County, the son of Vernon and Edna (Brown) Hutton.

Survivors include his wife Arlyne; son Kirk of Blair, Neb.; daughters Sharon Kinnan of Oakdale, Neb., and Muriel Iman of Agra; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mary Ellen (Toombs) Dunphy, of Stockton, passed away on October 7, 2023, at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, KS, at the age of 90.

She was born on February 28, 1933, to Homer Arthur and Mary Ellen (Green) Toombs in York, Neb. She married William Robert “Bill” Dunphy on November 30, 1957.
