ELLIS COUNTY—The City of Hays will locate its new police station and municipal courts downtown at 1100 Fort, the site of Astra Bank.The building has 23,000 square feet of space with room for expansion.

RENO COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating after sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence in Nickerson on April 11th to check on the welfare of animals.

KANSAS CITY, MO.—Firefighters were called on Monday, April 8th, after people spotted a mountain goat that had escaped from its owner and somehow got stuck under a Kansas City bridge.

ELLIS COUNTY—Just after noon on Tuesday, April 2nd, emergency personnel were dispatched to the Roadway Inn, Room #206, 3403 Vine Street in Hays, for a child not breathing, according to a media release.

SALINE COUNTY—According to Salina Police Captain James Feldman, officers and local emergency services responded to a Toyota passenger vehicle fully engulfed in flames after it struck a support pillar under Interstate 135 at West Cloud Street and the Centennial Road Intersection just after 11:00 p.m.

ELLIS—The Greyhound bus stop in Ellis has closed, with the potential of other businesses shutting down. SJ Singh, the owner of the A&W and Ellis Days Inn, managed the bus stop on Second Street and said the City of Ellis has stopped him from operating it.

THOMAS COUNTY—On Friday, March 8th, five people were injured in an accident just before 8:00 a.m. in Thomas County.

MIAMI COUNTY—On February 27th, deputies, along with Miami County EMS and Fire District #1 of Johnson County, responded to a medical call on the ramp of 169 Highway and 255th Street, according to a social media report from the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.

ELLIS COUNTY—A man sustained multiple injuries Friday, February 23rd, at a fall at a house under construction in Hays according to the Hays Fire Department. The Department received a dispatch at 8:52 a.m.
