Body Robert Atkisson, Stockton, was among the administration appointments recently announced by Governor Laura Kelly. Atkisson was reappointed to the Kansas State Fair Board.

Body The Motion Dance Company recently went to Kansas City, Mo., to perform their dances in the Regional competition on Wednesday, April 14th, through Friday, April 16th. They took 19 dances to Regionals and will also take 19 dances to Nationals! There are twelve members on the team.

Body The Rooks County Commissioners met with sheriff Gary Knight at their weekly meeting on Tuesday, May 25th. Knight was present to ask for $3,000.00 for the D.A.R.E. program for the county schools. The commissioners approved the funds for the program as presented.

Body The Kansas Geological Survey reported a minor earthquake in southern Phillips County Thursday, April 27th. The 2.6-magnitude quake was recorded about three miles south and two miles east of Glade at 4:35 p.m.
